On the Sand at Myrtle Beach

Enjoy the great sands of Myrtle Beach and the warm ocean temperatures. The largest of all beaches in the Grand Strand is the main thoroughfare of Myrtle Beach. Here families will find endless activities from arcades and carnival rides to the boardwalk and SkyWheel. This is the busiest of the beaches as well, during peak summer season, but there’s a vibrant boardwalk atmosphere and tons of people enjoying themselves.

So take a break from the sun and enjoy an oceanfront walk on Myrtle Beach the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade. The 1.2 mile boardwalk is eight feet wide in some sections, 30 to 50 feet in others, allowing for sidewalk cafes and generous seating areas. While most of the boardwalk is made of wood, the section at the south end is a decorative concrete that stretches along the dune line. Benches have been placed in alcoves along the route so visitors can sit back and take in the gorgeous ocean view.  Enjoy some gift shopping at the Gay Dolphin, a daiquiri at Hurricane’s, or great lunch at the Oceanfront Bar & Grill then head back out to finish sunning on the sands.
