On the Sand at Surfside Beach

Just south of the Grand Strand is the town of Surfside Beach. While only 2 miles long it makes up for it with its charming rows of pastel houses. The beach has its own pier, which was built in 1953 and unfortunately hurricane Matthew took it’s toll on it in 2017 leaving just a small portion. That doesn’t stop the charm of Surfside Beach known as “The Family Beach”.  If you happen to stray from the sands for awhile be sure to check out Wild Water and Wheels Water Park with slides, pools and even go-cart racing.

Surfside Beach became the world’s first autism friendly destination in 2016. The town provides families who have a member who has autism with a card that lets local businesses subtlety know in order to provide them with tailored support and services.
